Hi My friends!

This is a post I have dreaded making, as neither my husband nor me, are the type to be vengeful. I am not sure that vengeful is the correct word. However, we do expect companies to honor their commitments, and we will not be taken advantage of. If you have been following my history with  Lawnscapes Virtual Designs FB Page or Lawnscapes Virtual Designs Website, you already know our history. If you do not, you can start here... Robins Things  & then click on newer posts. I have tried to keep everything in order of date. And I am sorry this is so long, but I want to share the info I have.

SO NOW~  FOR THE LATEST UPDATE~
Today is 8-12-2018 at appr 9 am, I am trying to get my thoughts, records, & feelings together as I write this. I personally feel very betrayed & hurt by Lawnscapes Virtual Designs & its owner. As you can tell I have been patient.

LVD will be used as an abbreviation of the business name as I hate typing. 

Many people have said "sue", that has never been an answer for my husband & I, but as they say, there is a first time for everything. I have apparently been blocked from LVD FB messaging, possibly their LVD page, and the owners personal FB page. All I want is for this company to honor its commitments & actually, do what is on my wishlist. If they cannot or do not wish to do that, I will have my lawyer get involved.  Here is the link to that list... Robins Landscape Wish List

I understand your frustration and disappointment, your yard has been on my mind every day, because it’s not like me to not be able to full fill a promise.  I hope this too doesn’t go public but here’s the truth in the matter, it has been a horrible year for the business and me personally and I am trying my best to regroup and make things better, every time it seems as though things would be better so I could have the money available in the business to take care of yours, it wasn’t.  It has nothing to do with location or it being free, I care about every one and their yard.

Your absolutely right, I am very sorry about the way in which this has been handled and embarrassed. I haven’t installed one in four months now but yours will absolutely be the second one done if you will let us

I am not going to pretend that I haven't been disappointed- but I AM looking forward to when you make the disappointment spectacular. Yes, I still would LOVE for you to do whatever you can do. Please- only do what you can afford to do. I know that you don't know me personally, but you could have shared the truth. The truth I can understand. AND YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!!! Just know that, and continue to follow your dreams. This is the type of business I would have loved to do, but only when I was much younger.  LOL
The reason I put it on my blog is that no one reads it. LOL I didn't want to make you feel bad, but I did feel that I needed to say something, or I would be hurting myself. I don't know if that makes any sense to you, it is hard for me to put it in words. I have been working on standing up for myself. The last few years I have learned that I haven't had to really do much of that before, so I am learning now.
Please know that I am looking forward to meeting you in the flesh, & I will try to scrounge up some help when you are ready. And I do not need to share why this has taken so long. hey- you been busy- even if you are watching TV like I do.

OMGOSH-  Wendy- I am so in dream yard heaven!!  QVC is having their garden day- I want everything!!!! Not the pressure washer though. LOL  I am actually watching to see if they have a mat for my deck. I have one I bought years ago- & it has really held up well.  But all this fun stuff & plants is killing me!! I am resisting so far.

Hi. I hope your daughter is doing better. I wish we had known before the last minute. I have asked to please keep in touch with us, & let us know of any changes. We are adaptable if we just know.
The watering system has been installed, we did the best we could with the info we had. At least we have water now. 
Did you receive the pics I sent via email?
We still need an order date for the sod, we  are having it delivered & they asked for a couple of days advanced notice, & when the new install date will be. I can't remember what else, hopefully all the info I needed to know is in the messages/ phone calls/ email I have sent.

HI again. I looked over the estimate again & realized there is no materials for the water garden. Are you planning to reuse the stuff we have?  That is fine, but I am not sure if you realized that we have 2 smaller ponds that did have a bridge over it to look like one larger pond. I did send a pic in the email.

Dear Landscapes Virtual Designs-  I am not going away. My personal belief is you do not give someone a prize & not honor it. Very poor management!
However, I am going to be more verbal & aggressive in my un-promotion of your company. I see on your FB page I am not the only one that does not get replies via phone, messaging or any method. I believe I have gone above & beyond being patient with you. We have installed the watering system at our expense for your landscape plans as you suggested. We located sod as you proposed, again to be at our expense. When I refer back to my original entry to this contest, nothing that I asked for is included in your plan, except pretty. The plan you sent is beautiful, but as I stated safety is my concern, and it still is 1 1/2 years later after I won. At this point I was willing to settle for anything!!  I had such high hopes & so far have had nothing but major disappointment in your company.
So I am forced to publicly let the Wiregrass know about my very poor experience with Lawnscapes Virtual Designs & the other yard companies you have.
And yet, I feel guilty doing this, which I shouldn't given all that I have done to cooperate & try to get this done.

I assume I have been blocked as I am no longer receiving an automated reply to LVD FB personal messaging.  So sad.  :(


This is a message I left on the LVD  FB page on Aug 9th. I am not good at typing, as I somehow kept deleting my message. I did send a copy of this clip in a post, so I am glad I took a snip of the comment before posting.  However, I did get a reply that said all messages need to be approved. I don't think it was approved. 

At our meeting on the 6th, we (Mike & I) met at Wendy's convenience at LVD office in Dothan, which was fine. We discussed the plan Wendy had sent me, and a start date. I was excited because the start date was schedule for June 25th, my birthday. I voiced my concerns again about a safe way to get to the front door, plants blocking the light, grass, & water garden safety.
These were the LVD owners' replies.
  • safety to the front door- It isn't in the budget
  • plants blocking the light- She changed the plant selections
  • grass- it isn't in the budget, and suggested we both find sources of sod at the best price since this would be at our expense. We did this, and found a place to deliver it closer to us. She also stated that she had employes that could lay it, again at our expense, since that wasn't in the budget. We agreed to that as we thought it was a reasonable price for laying sod. She also recommended a watering system, which we had thought we would need to do, again at our expense since it wasn't in the budget. We were not surprised by the watering system, we knew we would have some additional expense, as $2500 does not go very far. After many attempts to contact LVD we had the water system installed as best we could tall from the design picture. And as you can tell I never received a reply as to when to order the sod.
  • water garden safety- She could not figure out an attractive way to help with this issue. I had the same issue & I thought a professional could. I guess not.  :(


This is the Lawnscape plan I was sent. It is so pretty, and I LOVE it, but it isn't exactly what is on my wish list. 


I admit, at this point, I would have agreed to anything, and I really didn't think about what wasn't in this plan. I did voice my concern about azaleas, they aren't my favorites, but LVD assured me they would be pretty & bloom more often than the old-fashioned ones.

I also did not go over the cost estimate until a few days later when I realized there was no expense added in the estimate for the prettier water garden. A mistake on my part, I have never dealt with a landscaper before. And I still had trust in LVD. I sent a message about this & again received no reply.

And so- it is time to be more aggressive, stand up for myself, & get this blog in the public's eyes, especially in locations close to me. And it is time to have our lawyer look this over & recommend where we go from here. We are not vengeful (did I say that already?), I never wanted to hurt LVD. At the same time, I will not be taken advantage of.

When I hear nothing from your business though, I get concerned. Plus we had asked for the plan so we could do some of the prep work if possible. We know $$ doesn't go as far as we wish it would, so we had hoped to do some of the easier stuff so the $$ can go to the design & things we can't handle.

Well, here it is Dec 27th, 2017 & I have not heard a word from LawnScapes Virtual Designs since the FB message on OCT 28TH, 6:17PM. I have decided it is time to voice my concern, and the less painful way is to post this on my blog.
My intention is not to badmouth LawnScapes Virtual Designs or the owners. But I do want everyone to know that I am not going to be taken advantage of, or disappear into my front yard of sand, gravel, & weeds.

It is still a safety hazard for my disabled husband, children & anyone trying to come to our front door. You may wonder why we have not done improvements ourselves. We did, in the past.  We expected to have a landscape makeover within a reasonable amount of time. We wanted to save what money we could spare for a professional. Also, neither my husband nor I can physically do it.

For my birthday in June, I received some adorable yard ornaments for when we received our yard makeover.  They are still in the gift bag. For Christmas I again received some adorable yard ornaments for our lawn makeover, which I am in serious concern we will receive.

I believe the owner & I could be really great friends, as we seem to have a lot in common. However, as a company owner, the communication & follow through is lacking. I don’t know if this is due to the fact that we are not *paying* customers, or maybe it’s because we live in the country on a dirt road and there is not as much visual advertising opportunity as a residential area. Our home is not visible from the dirt road. However, there is plenty of public advertising online, in media, etc., and I will use this if needed.

I have had many, many people tell me that they would not tolerate this, that I should do something, and in honesty, it has become somewhat of a joke among my family & close friends that this makeover will happen. Besides the fact, I found out on Aug 29th that LawnScapes Virtual Designs usually does the makeovers in the off-season, & they have a full year to do it, &
I cannot be ugly until I have to.  So they still have a few months. It takes a lot for me to be aggressive, as that is not my nature. I try to be understanding, and I realize that the summer is this company’s busy season. At the same time, I expect a company to communicate & honor its commitments. As you can tell I am the one that has had to contact them most of the time.

I hope the time doesn’t come that I have to get ugly, but I am not a pushover either. I don’t think my requests for the yard makeover are too much, as I am basically leaving the design in the hands of the company designers.

(20) LawnScapes Virtual Designs:   Hi. I hope this is what you meant by a message. We had a beautiful yard- once upon a time. Time, age, a car accident w/disabilities, dogs, and a BIG tree have ruined it.
My dream is to have a low maintenance yard... with grass, & a sidewalk that would be safe for handicapped people & my husband to get to our front door.
I am embarrassed by these pics- we haven't done much all winter. As you can see we have sand instead of grass, my pitiful water garden, *noone* who broke my fountain, a pondless waterfall that never was completed, rocks under the weeds, an attempt at flowerbeds, & our horrible rock sidewalks. As you can see in one picture we do have grass on the other side of our muddy driveway. We cut down the large pear tree that was providing to much shade, and I understand it would have died soon anyway. I LOVE trees, so that hurt. Further out we have an above ground swimming pool which our family loves.
